The fall 2010 Maine Highland Cattle Association meeting was hosted by Mark and Sue Faunce on October 16, 2010 at Pondview Farm in Limington.

It was a sunny, cool, and windy day, great weather for walking in the pasture with our guest speaker Rick Kersbergen from cooperative extension.  Rick talked to the group about pasture improvement, covering things like soil testing, addressing ph levels, eradicating problem weeds, choosing grass varieties, and ways to incorporate new seed into old pastures. He also covered some basics of rotational  grazing management for pasture improvement.

After the pasture walk, everyone came inside and enjoyed a delicious pot luck lunch and conversation. The meeting ended about 1 pm. Many thanks to Rick Kersbergen for sharing his knowledge, and to all who attended!
